Who is Cove for?
Cove is built for kids ages 3 to 9 — the years when a child's verbal vocabulary races ahead of their reading skill. The interface is voice-first, so children can navigate, choose stories, and ask for help long before they can read the screen.
Does Cove send my child's voice to the cloud?
Never. Speech recognition runs entirely on-device using Apple's local frameworks. No audio, no transcripts, and no analytics ever leave your child's iPhone, iPad, or Mac.
Does Cove work offline?
Yes. Once installed, Cove works fully offline — no accounts, no logins, no network calls on the child side. It's the same on a plane, in a car, or anywhere with no signal.
How does Cove actually teach reading?
Children pick a tutor character, then read short passages aloud while the tutor listens. When a word is missed or stumbled on, Cove highlights it gently and models the pronunciation — no quizzes, no timers, no failure states. Difficulty adapts to each child, and tricky words return through spaced repetition.
When is Cove launching?
Cove is in active development for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. There's no public release date yet — drop a note to hello@discovery-cove.com if you'd like to hear when it ships.
Is Cove free?
Pricing isn't finalized. The intent is a one-time purchase — no subscriptions, no in-app purchases, no advertising. Ever.
